I run 4 reefbrites with 250 watt 14k aquabright bulbs. I do run reefbreeder and Reefbrite LEDS with them but I get well over 250 par at the very bottom of my tank and they are mounted up pretty high.

This tank is 96x36x12”

i have heard the reef brights run cool. i am not worried about changing bulbs every 12-18 months.

i am looking at spending $100 for each reef bright setups plus a 4 new aquabright 14k bulbs at $65 each.

so all in, call it $200 per fixture with shipping. I have 3 g4 xr30 pros to sell, so that offsets the initial purchase. i would have to ad at least 1 if not 2 more g4 xr30s i would think. cost for 2 used g4s will run me bulbs for 2-3 years.

my house is old and drafty, originally built in 1759. extra heat in the winter is no big deal, and summer fans to keep the tank temp down and a big ATO. The added electricity bill will suck but i am going from a 125 to a 300. The bill will go up, that's inevitable.

would like to find more info on these reefbright fixtures and people using them.

Thank you Bob and Sps. This is what I am looking for.

My tank is mixed reef. 100 par at the sand bed will be plenty. I have a couple SPs frags but nothing major. I think these reefbright May will work out nicely. If I need so supplement down the road I will do that but I think for the initial/bulk of lighting 4 of the RB 250w will be plenty and not break the bank

I do miss them. The big thing I enjoyed about them was the plug and play. Was it the absolute best spectrum? I don’t know, but it worked and it was easy.
I still have a few pendants but I do enjoy my Orpheks that I’m running currently.
