I'm running into problems with humidity in the house and am planning to install an exhaust fan. Is anyone currently using one of those venitilation fan with the built in humidity sensors like this one?

I don't think that the humidity sensor can be adjusted, but is there any other advantage to running an external humidistat? If an external humidistat is preferred, what's the best one? I'm looking at the Custom Automated Products AIR-1 which allows you to set turn-on points for both temp & humidity. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Bump....anybody? My wife is really getting on me about this, so I need to do something soon.

I run an exhaust fan off of a humidistat, so it turns on either on a set humidity level or on a set temperature threshold. They work great. Let me know if you want more details ... like the brand of humidistat I run.

What type of humidistat are you using?

Were you able to hard wire into the humidistat, or did you use the plug on the side?

I run an exhaust all all the time in the summer and just turn it off in the winter. I don't want any extra moisture in the heat.

That's actually the humidistat I was looking at because it seems to be the one that several reefers are using. Anyone have an idea on how to size the ventilation fan? The tank is in a spare bedroom that is only 12x12 and I was looking at a Nutone 110 cfm 0.7 sone fan. Any suggestions on larger or smaller?

Never measured it with a hygrometer, but it's high enough that I'm getting condensation on the windows and a little bit of mold on the window frame that needs to be wiped down with bleach periodically, so it's gotta be pretty high.

i would seriously measure it. because there are other issues what would cause that also. such as poor insulation bad seal in the window. are they double or tripple pane?
also it could be from major temp. differences it could be as little as 10 degrees.
