Do I need to do this under advanced settings

Yes. er, edit - No. Sorry, I do all of my programming in advanced or use the wizards for WAV pumps and DOS dosing.
Just select control type = light.

Here's mine. I don't have heat issues.

Fallback OFF
If Time 23:00 to 07:00 Then ON
If Time 07:00 to 23:00 Then OFF

That second line may not be needed, I haven't tested it.
Mmmmm, gotta test that.

If you want to manually enter code, yes, it requires you to be in the advanced settings. However, if you change the Control Type drop down to Light, you'd be able to select/enter the appropriate settings.

I think if you were to add a

Set OFF

Line after the fallback, your last line wouldn't be necessary, without it though I'm not sure!

Do I need to do this under advanced settings
To write the "If" "Then" lines, you would need to be under the advanced settings. To set it to simply turn on or off you would be able to do that from the "light" selection under the control type. Make sure your slider bar is set to auto and that a limit is not outside of parameters (I think APEX preset the lights to turn off if your tank is over 82 degrees). Is there anyway you could screenshot your settings screen?

Possibly silly question, but what is your temp at? Also, what kind of lights are they?

I have the exact problem
I'm following this one....
Have you tried using a different outlet? Is it only that specific outlet or is it the lighting commands?

I just ran a test:

Control type = advanced.

Code:
Fallback OFF
Set OFF
If Time 18:09 to 18:11 Then ON

Worked perfectly.

Make sure the outlet switch is set to Auto.

Is your Apex firmware up to date?
There was an update to Fusion a few days ago.

Use the pulldown menu next to the house icon with apex's name.
Select the WIFI icon.
If you need to update APEX operating system you should see an AOS Update banner at the top. I just checked mine and an update is needed.

Not saying that is the cause of your problem, but it can't hurt to check.

Why is your heater switch set to ON?
If the heater thermostat fails in the on position you might cook the tank.

On the fuge light change control type to advanced.
Remove any line concerning temp.

See if that works. You may need to change the times to the current time to run a test.

Let us know what happens.

BTW, what is your current system temp?
