I think you’re talking about the 6 switch inputs on the Apex and showing as SW1-SW6 on fusion.

If so they can be used for any digital input. Like a door switch or push button or level switch. Neptune has a break out box that makes the wiring easier.

When your "significant-other" starts complaining about your reefing hobby....you can flip the analog switch to close her "circuit" i.e. mouth

Switches don't have to be 'digital'; in fact, most are analog.
This is incorrect all switches are digital that means your common light switch, one exception would be a dimmer switch.
