I just bought a 1” flow sensor for my new build and I’m curious where everyone has theirs installed and why? Right off the return? Drain pipes? Just looking to get ideas before I start doing my plumbing.

Probably better on the return, but can be made to work on siphon drains too. If on the return, don't plumb it directly to the pump - keep a short length of pipe between the two to prevent pump turbulence from messing with the readings. Also make sure you can easily remove the sensor for cleaning. they are quite prone to fouling.
