I finally have my DT cycling and it's about time to figure out the Apex controller and figure out everything I would like to do with it. One question I have is, is there any way to "lock" the settings on the controller? I would like to have the display screen mounted on the outside of my equipment cabinet, but with our young kids, grandchildren, and foster kids that we have come through the house it would be a disaster waiting to happen if I can't lock out the settings somehow...might just have to mount it in the cabinet and find a way to lock it.

Comprehensive Reference Manual Page 146

"There is also a password you can set on the display itself to prevent tampering by your 3-year old. By default, this is "xyz" and can be updated via the Setup → Display Setup → Display Password screen. To lock the display, select Control/Status – Display Lock. You will be prompted for the password the next time you want to use the display. If you set the display lock and later forget what the password is you can reset it to the default by cycling the power on the base unit. It will reset to the default ‘xyz’ any time you cycle the power."

I don't use my display at all...just use Fusion on whatever device I happen to be around...desktop, tablet, notebook and phone.

Yes you can also do it that way. For me I like the convenience of just glancing at the display.
I actually run two displays since I run a basement sump (one at the display one at the sump).

The real beauty of the Apex, is that it can be tailored to fit the needs and desires of the user.
