Apex Power Strip Question

So I am putting together my 180g reef. I want to be able to do the following, but I don't have my apex yet, and want to make sure that this is possible.


I want to have the Apex main unit, EB8 , etc in the sump area. Controlling probes, skimmer, return pumps, reactors, etc.

In the Canopy, I want another EB8 to control my lights and wave pumps only.

Q. Will this work?
Q. How do the 2 separate EB8 units talk to each other?

Im basically running a similar set up. The EB8s have a cable that run between them or another apex component - you can then access all of the outlets for control through the Fusion interface to setup them up independantly. You can see I have lots of outlets that are viewable in the interface to program.

Good.. That's what I was hoping for.. How long is the cable between them?

I think it comes with a 3-4' cable, but you can buy upto a 30' cable if you need a longer run.

+1 to the above. In my case I'll have the EB832 in the room with the tank and an EB8 in the garage to control stuff out there. Extremely easy and what the Apex was created to do!
