First time getting an Apex and Trident, looking to setup it up but don't know where to put the probes? Do I just drop them in water, fully submerged or is it better to get a probe holder?

I recommend using a probe holder so the probes are always in a consistent place and cannot accidentally get sucked into a pump. I place my probes in the return chamber where there is the lowest chance of microbubbles or detritus. You'll want to be sure to keep them away from anything that can skew the readings, such as dosing tubes, ATO, heaters, etc.

Thanks! Ordering some holders now :)
