Hello I have a apex temp probe that is 4 months old. This has happened twice 2 weeks apart. I get an alarm saying it hit 81 degrees but I know that’s not true with my ink bird. The apex shows a huge spike instantly. I recalibrated last week and it did it again today. Bad probe? Apex base unit fault ?

Is it possible that you have your apex temp probe in an area that has occasional stagnate flow?

Lol you are rock on. It just happened again and it’s when I enter feed mode and my sump where the heater and Apex probe is in. Do I fix this by turning my heater off for the duration of feed mode? It’s odd it’s just now starting to do this tho. But yes to answer your question. How do I fix it ?

Perhaps try moving your temp probe into an area that is always flowing if you can. If not try to give it some distance from your heater so it will not trigger false alarms. Lots of people put their temp probe in their overflows. I keep small wave pumps in each chamber of my sump so there is always circulation.

If I put my probe in overflow it wouldn’t be submerged in water when I enter feed mode. Also the sump is completely still when I turn on feed mode so I’ll try to just move the probe into another chamber. Thanks for the help.
