Hi folks.

I received a new VDM module and a pair of Tunze 6105 powerheads today. Spent the last couple of hours getting them all installed.

Currently, the Tunze's are running on Tunze's own wave controller. Simple. Push button, get wave. Knobs control max/min strength, timing, etc. Easy.

I did put it into remote mode, so I could run it from my Apex. That's one of the main reasons, in fact, that I bought the Tunze brand pumps... Apex integration. Had to buy the VDM module, since I have an EL version Apex, but should work. Does work, kinda...

I'm wanting a wave effect. 30% to 90% and back to 30% in, say... 40 seconds. Maybe cut max to 60% after 7pm. Inverse on the 2nd pump.

I've got something pretty close to that, without even reading a manual, by running the Tunze controller in wave mode. Doesn't back off at night, but it's pretty close.

Plotting individual points, if my math is right, 1 point every 40 seconds over a 24 hour period... 2160 individual points.

Really? No way to do this programatically?

Looking as OSCillate... but that's on/off, no ramping.

Somebody want to write a RAMP command for the Apex?

RAMP(Start%, End%, Time in seconds)

Read up on using Ramp Profiles with the Apex:

You need to look into creating different profiles. I don’t understand what your trying to accomplish or I’d give more advice. I run multiple tunze off apex, way better than the controller they come with in my opinion.

I think he's trying to make the same effect that BRS did on their 160, one powerhead is pushing the wave across the tank and the other is pulling essentially because it has a lowering output as the pushing powerhead increases and then vice versa. So basically the turbulent point moves from one side of the tank to the other.

I haven’t seen that video, do you mean one on and one off like synchronize? Isn’t it explained in the video? Here is one profile I made that mite be similar to what you mean

The hint about Ramp profiles helped. I was able to take what was suggested above, a bit of independent research, some trial and error, and have it close to how I want it.

So, now I've got the following:

A RampUp100 profile, 30% to 100% in 1 Min
A RampDown100 profile, 100% to 30% in 1 Min
A Virtual Outlet, WaveOSC, OSC 000:00/001:00/001:00 Then ON

And the Variable Speed Output Tunze1:
If Output WaveOSC = OFF Then RampUp100
If Output WaveOSC = ON Then RampDown100

With a 2nd Variable Speed Output Tunze2 doing the same thing in reverse.

Seems to be working.

Next question:
I've also made a RampUp60 profile, 30% to 60% in 1 min, and a RampDown60, as well.

I'd like to use the 30-60% profiles from 1900 to 1000, and the 30-100% profiles from 1000 to 1900

Any advice?

If I recall, I used the season table to program everything and it kept everything random. If you want to program at certain times, then you have to use If Time, which is just as easy. Is that what you're asking?
