Hi everyone,

I bought an Apex back in June, and it has been running fine. However, about two to three weeks ago, I started having connection issues. It would get disconnected, and I had to reboot it a few times—until this past weekend.

This past weekend, the whole system went crazy. It disconnected 44 times in less than 24 hours. Every time I was able to connect to it, it reported that a few of my modules were missing, and I had to go through the Replace Module task because all the modules would change ports.
To make matters worse, the last time I was able to connect, all modules were missing, plus there was a ghost alarm from the LLS.

When I inspected my modem/router (NETGEAR Nighthawk Modem Router Combo CAX30S), sometimes it showed that the Apex was connected through the Ethernet cable, and other times it showed it was connected through Wi-Fi. However, when I checked the app, it said it was not connected, or it will connect for a few seconds and then disconnect again.

I’ve tried power cycling both my modem and my Apex (for 30 minutes), to no avail.

The last time this happened—this morning—when I was finally able to connect, all modules were missing and there were no modules available to replace them.

I’m about to go crazy since I bought this for peace of mind, and it has become a nightmare.

I don’t understand how such an expensive piece of equipment can have so many issues.

Any help would be highly appreciated 🙏🏼

I've had this issue happen to me several times between multiple controllers and i've never been able to pinpoint what the issue is. I've tried assigning static IPs and all kinds of other networking gymnastics. The only foolproof method i've used that actually works long time, is to run an ethernet cable to your controller. I know sometimes the wifi chips can go bad.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I actually have it connected using an ethernet cable, however, it is weird becuase in my router shows that sometimes the system is connected with the cable and other times is connected wireless without me changing anything.

I initially set it up using Wi-Fi becasue I didn't have a network cable at hand, but then I bought this cable on Amazon and up until 2 to 3 weeks ago everything was fine:

Amazon product

I really don't know what to do.
I opened a ticket with Neptune support but I work at an office and I can't leave to be at the house to troubleshoot the issue.

I’ve had similar issues. I now hardwire direct to router. That has helped a lot. And I also have an incantation I use to ward off the evil spirits. The losing all modules is super annoying.

HAHAHAHA🤣. Thanks.
I actually discovered what was it. I bought a second hand LSM Lunar Simulator out of Ebay and I can't exactly tell if it was the module itself or the AquaBus cable, but once I removed it, the system has been working fine and the connection has remained stable.

As I mentioned above in another comment, I ended up opening a ticket with Neptune directly and they pointed 3 possible issues, one of which was a defective module since every time I was able to reconnect back to the Apex for a few minutes, all modules were missing and all the port numbers were changed.

I was so frustrated I that was not able to see that all the issues started after I added that module.

Thanks God, all looks like it has been resolved now.

Thanks for all your help.
