API Ammonia test

@Jay Hemdal

I’m seeing in a 2024 post that you made that .5 ppm ammonia in a tank treated with chelated copper can be attributed to the copper interaction.

If so, is it a simple extrapolation that if an API test reads 2.0 ppm that .5 of that is attributable to copper giving a true value of 1.5 million?

Yes - I’ve been going with that as a working hypothesis, just use 0.50 ammonia as your baseline when treating with Coppersafe or copper power.

Now - I don’t know how long that “ghost ammonia” stays readable - it seems to drop over time, even though the copper level doesn’t - I can’t explain that.
