Hi All,

I am finding around 3 new apt Aptasia’s a day, I keep blasting them with Joes Juice but it leaves this white powder all over the rock and my Zoas. Then when I turn the pumps, MP40 etc on it goes all in the water. I use around 1ml per blast and today I must have blasted around 6 of them so 6ml. Will this harm my fish or corals / inverts?

Tank is a 60g. Photo attached

Thanks in advance

Neil

Too much of anything is harmful to your tank. But going after 6 aiptasia over 2 days isn't a problem. BTW, if you get some kalkwasser (cheaper than any of the aiptasia products) you can mix your own. Just use a small amount of RO/DI water and mix in enough kalkwasser to make a paste. If you make it thick and give it 10 seconds before turning the pumps back on, it won't blow around, but slowly dissolve over time.

I am using a more natural approach to this... I have a copperband butterfly fish in my tank... no, I still have not gotten him to eat the foods I put in my tank, because he is non-stop nipping at the rock... eating the aiptasia.
