(edit) I’ve recently been told I was not very clear on my tank size in the thread..I reviewed it and they were right. It takes too long on this thread to see that. This is a 200 gallon mixed reef (planned) mostly softies... I needed a bioload to get the tank to ..”grow”... mature. I am raising softies that will get rehomed. ...end edit

So here is my build thread : ) I think I am at a good starting place. It took me 4 months of research to get this far. At this point, I am in that horrible “ I just wanna put stuff in it phase” system, water and rock right now : ( I am a patient guy... but dang. Lol

I have been reading a few other build threads... some of you guys are amazing! Me? Yeah... I cheated. Lol. I bought my way to this point ...now the wait for livestock

here Is my first picture. : ) can you see the wolf head? : )

The next thing I did was take care of the plumbing : )

I wanted this to be easy to take care off. 5 gallon buckets gets old! (Yes, I’m lazy). You can kinna see the reverse osmosis system in the pics too : ) automated top offs (did I mention I’m lazy?)

the sheet rock has now been repaired and painted. You cannot tell I did anything to those walls now.

Here is the lighting system... it’s all LED. 2 Hydra 32s and 1 Hydra 26 in the center

it has more blue in it during my prime viewing times... late evenings... than I really care for. It makes taking good pics almost impossible : ( but... it is still miles better than what I had on my last tank!

...and all the dirty little secrets under the cabinet lol

I would love to see some comments on my sump and other gear here. How did I do? Should I have done something different? I have not set up a refugium yet.

I thought I’d drop in my feeding regimen here.

This is just some good dry fish food I put it in an airtight bowl. They get 4 scoops of this everyday. I always feed this first.

these are the other foods I use.

Mysis frozen shrimp. I have it cut up into littles squares already. They get half of one of the squares everyday
PE Mysis PE energetics 1 per day

I use 2 teaspoons of the ROE and 1 teaspoon Oyster feast every 2 days

I am working up a species list I have in the tank so far. (I am struggling with the names of a few of them)

It has an overflow drain that goes straight into the sump and a primary drain going to the sump for the filtration system.

there is a separate pump inside the tank that pumps water out for water changes. That’s the other line you see on the left side in the back.

does that answer your question? : )

Spent the day doing maintenance... cleaning. I glued down a few more of the corals. Tested my water and my numbers are great! Really happy about that!

working on getting some camera equipment... in lieu of that, I downloaded an app that takes better pics of my tank than just my iPad can do.

Looking good so far, there are some clip on orange lenses that will help you balance out the blues so your pics come out nicely.
I have been googling that too... I found an app that has been very helpful.
thank you!

Made a decision recently to head down the SPS path, so I have been making some equipment editions. I ordered a 3 stage dosing system today. My LFS guy will install it next week.

I installed the calcium reactor today. I also added two bio filter media blocks to my sump (you can see them in the sump pic too

And now i find out the reactor set up is a waste smh.. make lemonade right. I am going to switch out the media in the reactor to either carbon of gfo need to read some more. The 3 stage dosing system will handle the calcium : )
