Can I use white distilled vinegar to kill aptasia, and will it affect my tank?

Hey everyone.

I have an aptasia problem, so I am looking for ways to manually remove them. I tried surgically removing them, and that did absolutely nothing because they just hide.

I heard lemon juice works, but I don't have any at the moment, but I also heard doing white distilled vinegar will work...

Will that kill the aptasia, and will it affect my tank? I have 2 fish, and 2 corals. I also have a skimmer.

If your tank is small, I don't think you want to go adding things that are acids to it.
If it's a big tank, then I'd think you can get away with it.

A small amount of Kalk paste works great. And they sell something to that effect called joes juice. It comes with a little pinpoint syringe that allows you more precision to jam them good.

It's 15g, so yeah, it's quite small...

I would think in a small tank that it would be pretty easy to inadvertently use too much and upset the tank is the only reason I wouldn't. People DO use vinegar in their tanks.

The Joes Juice works very well though. I use that. You'll get little pebbles of it flying around in the tank sometimes, but it wont hurt anything and it will disperse without clouding the water.

Ok, I will look into it. Thanks.
