Aqua Barber’s Pruning Perfection: How do you trim back algae?

Whether you are maintaining your macroalgae or managing nuisance algae, there are many ways to trim it back. Some may do the hand trimming with their actual hands by pulling out the algae and others may use cutting tools to give the algae a trim. Of course, others may choose to not do any trimming at all. Whether you are taking the bonsai-style approach to sculpting your macroalgae or are just trying to knock back the unwanted algae so other tank inhabitants can keep it in check, how do you trim back algae?

electric toothbrush, best thing for bubble algae
I’m dealing with bubbles right now, emerald crabs (on my third one now) have no interest and would much rather eat my torches. I assume you have the toothbrush in one hand and a siphon in the other? Does it pop the bubbles? (I know the community is pretty split on this so not sure it matters just curious)

I turn all the flow off, then i just collect them off the bottom with a hose. Zould do it with a syphon to a filtersock in the sump as well but then you still have flow in the tank
