I am trying to setup my 15w Aqua Ultraviolet 2000 Hanger model on my 75 gallon mixed reef. It too keep my water crystal clear and keep alage under control. I need a recommendation for what size pump (gph) I should run. I have a new Coral Box 1200 DC pump rated at 317 gph but I think that is not enough flow? Any help greatly appreciated. I would recommend more flow since this is a reef tank. The max flow on your pump would be within the physical spec but it will likely kill off organisms, such as pods, that you want to keep alive. The company rates it at 214GPH to 642GPH with 233GPH being their number for sterilization. Their recommendation for reef tanks are 428GPH to 642GPH. For a reef tank I'd recommend one around 600GPH that is DC. Since it's mixed reef (meaning fish also) a DC version will give you the option of dialing it back to ~450 to help with disease prevention, but also having the option to increase it if needed. Also, most people likely don't get the max rated GPH anyway since various factors will slow it down.
