I just purchased a Aqua UV 25W UV Sterilizer and debating on installation orientation. The product manual says to keep the inlet/outlet up when mounting in the horizontal position. I see many people on this forum with their inlet/outlet rolled 90 degrees.

I ask this question because it would make it significantly easier to keep in the UV inside the wet area and not go external to stand or in the dry side of the tank.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I've attached a picture from the manual here

As well as a link to SuncrestReef's RSR XL425

You want to orient the unit so that it quickly and easily purges air.

This is exactly how mine is installed. Horizontal w inlet a tad lower than the outlet.

I am not the one to judge. Seems like most things in life for me is to do it right the first time with organization and tools. If i don't place things in the right place i'll spend so much time trying to find them.

There’s an UV sterilizer in there? :p

Agree with post above, whatever works for you! I wish I wasn’t wired to be so particular about things...

I regret every-day that I didn’t put 2 gallons of Flex Seal ($125 and a couple hours of effort) into the bottom of my stand before putting the sump in.
