AquaKnight Mount Modification

Hello all, I have the aqua knight light (that everyone uses for budget builds). Has anyone done any modifications to the light itself to center it more in the tank? My light sits a little farther forward than I would like.

I’m assuming you mean the 30w rectangle one.

Yes. I cut one half of the mount shorter so that it still used 2 screws but the overlap was reduced and allows it to be center-ish on a 10g. I’m not looking at it now, but I’m pretty sure it was the tank side clamp piece that has the threaded holes.

I used a sawzall with a metal blade, but obviously a hacksaw would work. I painted the fresh cut end with some black paint.

Light worked well. Don’t spill water on it.
