I've never heard of this before now, but it is a cool concept. Although it makes sense that it can't turn corners, that is a bit of a drawback, but I can see where something like this would appeal to the reefers who enjoy the automation options.

I have something similar for my inground pool, and have for a long time. It's probably my favorite piece of tech ever-- it can turn corners. It's saved me literally hundreds of hours of labor over the years. For my tank, though, I'll stick with nature's vacuum:
