Aquarium Data and Automations with Hydros

I'm just starting back into the hobby and work in IT. I really appreciate the current automation with the controllers out there, but feel like some of the calculations and analytics are on the light side from the little I know today. I was talking to Coralvue today trying to understand what they are trying to build with their API. Apparently, that is proprietary information, which reminds me of how old company's protect intellectual property, rather than open source code which encourages innovation.

I've been thinking that incorporating my Hydros ecosystem with my Home Assistant and smart devices make tons of sense to automate tasks, so I want to have a single pane of glass to see my smart home from.

I even see a simpler use case that is a no brainer to me with critical "red" alerts. What I think you have to do today is to plug a light into an open socket controlled by Hydros and hope you are in the same room. Why not connect it with available smart home features that allow any smart plug, light plug or other device be activated like I do when an alarm is triggered for the rest of my home? I also see an opportunity to create Power BI dashboards for tracking the trends of various parameters. How is AI being incorporated to help provide suggestions or anything for that matter? I know the company is focused on building products, but what a game changer it would be if they were interoperable with Smart Home, Generative AI and other capabilities where Coralvue doesn't have to build it, the hobbyist community can openly develop around the core strengths of the product.

I truly hope that David is viewing this.

HYDROS does have Wi-Fi devices.. including Wi-Fi outlets, and Wi-Fi strips. Therefore, you could have a Wi-Fi plug in the far part of your house as you said with a light or something to signify that red alert. Completely wireless, communicating over local Wi-Fi. You can have up to eight of these Wi-Fi devices connected to a collective.

Carlos does this at his home, his bedroom is on the 3rd floor, his tank is on the 1st. With a Wi-Fi plug, he has a little red alarm light go off.

We hear you on the other aspects of wanting to open it up, but allow us to first create a very safe environment to do so. Open source is nice until it's time to start pointing the fingers at something that went wrong in a life support system.

But we're always listening, we're always watching for what users want, we're receptive to the demands, onwards and upwards from here!
