So I know the topic heading is a little weird, but I'm not sure how to ask this question so here we go. I want to use a 55 gallon sump from Petco on my 75 gallon build. The way my stand is setup only the corners of the tank will be supported if I use the 55 gallon. Would that be enough our should I have support in the middle of the tank as well?

So if I understand this correctly (and I'm still working on my first cup of coffee:ranger:) you're only supporting the four corners of the display tank? I would not get any sleep if I have a stand setup that way... Would it be possible for you to post a picture so we can see a better illustration of what you're trying to accomplish?

Assuming you have the plastic rim on your tank, that whole perimeter should be supported. I would be very uncomfortable with just the corners being supported.

So after looking at how it will be set up and the fear of waking up to another pond in my living I decided to just stick with my 20G long sump. Thanks for the info guys.
