Hello,

I am upgrading my tiny reef tank 20 gallon AIO to a 57 gallon, I want to use my Reef Ready rock from this tank and put into the new tank (it has coralline algae growing on it) - I plan on using the same reef ready rock and adding to the large structure on the right and leaving the little structure on the left the same. I used ocean wonders coralline epoxy to make this (I tried using Jurassic gel super glue and failed miserable but the epoxy worked great for me).

So I don’t know if I should just make a larger separate structure for the back or add on to the structure on the right. I don’t want to kill the bacteria or coralline and I was planning on using Marcos mortar this time for a more clean look (the epoxy worked but doesn’t look that great, looks like wads of gum). I have never used mortar before. Thank you for any feedback

I won't offer any advice on WHAT your aquascape should look like because I believe that's a very personal decision, but be sure to include properly concealed areas where fish can hide out of sight as they wish.

For securing the rockwork, you should try using a small ball of putty at each spot you want to secure 2 rocks together, but before adding the putty to the rock, add a small glob of super glue to each part of the putty that will contact the rock. This will give you a happy medium of super glue "strong" hold and epoxy putty form-to-fit which will dry in time, and you won't have to use so much of the putty with the glue helping.
