Is there some one who can tell me if the sound is acceptabel that the Aquawiz makes when it is testing when it stands in your livingroom?

What sound is it making? If is sounds like it is doing testing, then I'm sure it's normal.

What I mean if it is no noisy? By the way do you like your Aquawiz. I want to buy it but I am afraid the wiz is noisy and my wife starts complaining.

I do not own one sir. I was just assuming that you would hear some noise while it's testing. There are a lot of moving parts inside that thing. LOL!

Yes it’s noisy. The air pump gives off a deep bassy vibration noise. Overall it sounds like your next door neighbour has their washing machine on a spin cycle

Is this serious??????

You do adjust to it after a day or two, but if you have constantly monitoring/testing every hour, it is pretty much making sounds the time as the sequence it goes through last for 40 minutes.

Is the sound annoying or acceptabel?

Here is a short video I made last night…. AquaWiz sound

It shows the loudest part of the AquaWiz doing its sequence of testing. The ‘bass’ sound I think is the air pump. It lasts for about 10-15minutes out of the 40 minute full sequence. In the video, when the door of the cupboard is closed, it’s actually a little louder than on the video.
As a comparison, it’s the only part of the test that my wife has complained about the noise, but she will complain when the tank water is making a Trickling sound. The sound is comparable to a loud canister filter or an old fashioned Wisper air pump (if you can remember them)

As you can see in the video I have a very restricted space for it. I would like to cover it with a polystyrene box of about 1” thick.
The AquaWiz does not vibrate, it just makes a deep vibrate sound as mentioned.

I also took some decibel readings from a phone app. 12 inches away with cupboard door open it was 49 and door closed 43. Make of that what you will.

yeah, the air pump vibration is quite a bit. For testing purposes for the first day or so I've got it near my desk and I'd say it is annoying. less loud than the alkatronic for sure, but longer duration. I put it on a dampening pad and that kept the noise from carrying through the floor it is on to the room below. Given how little attention it needs, I'll probably put it in a cabinet with a little bit of soundproofing and should be fine. The tinker-er in me wants to take it apart and get a quieter air pump, but probably not one for now :)

I’d be really interested in doing the same, by changing out the air pump for a quieter one. I haven’t looked at the type of air pump inside the unit, but this is a good idea. My AquaWiz is inside a cabinet and I’ve sealed the gaps in the door with insulating strip and put some thick polystyrene sheet on the inside of the door and this has made a big difference.
