I recently setup my 125 gallon Aqueon tank up and was wondering if I can a drill 2 2inch holes on the side of the aquarium stand to snake wires into so it can look more clean? I believe the stand is made from MDF. I’m scared it would mess with the integrity of the stand since it’s not really high quality wood to hold that kind of weight.

could always add a few 2x4's to reinforce certain areas so you can feel more comfortable making the holes for wire management.

Glue and screw up a piece of 3/4 ply, drill your holes, and finish with dual sided grommets or bulkheads. Will look original and be stronger than when you started.

Yeah I was thinking about doing that haha those stands are made of MDF I could believe it holds the weight of the aquarium lol

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
