Am I the only one who thinks Aiptasia are in a different class of intelligence that say BTA's? A BTA isn't smart enough to move itself into the light to keep from dying. We all know that Aiptasia can live without light or in the light. They can reproduce in three different ways. They can take in nutrition three different ways.
My point is I've seen Aiptasia hide inside the rock until they turn clear white when I put them in the tank with the Raccoon Butterfly. I take the rock out of the tank thinking the butterfly has eaten them and there they are clear white.
Well, a couple months ago I got a Matted File Fish, love that fish. So, I'm thinking that almost all the Aiptasia are gone, being eaten by the file fish. Nope, just looked in the tank after the lights have been off awhile and there they are. They are hiding during the day and coming out at night to avoid the Matted File Fish!
Those Aiptasia will make me pull my hair out.
