Looking to get something to finally replace my trusty JBJ nanocube. However having a hard time deciding the route to go I had initially reached out to see if Nuvo would sell me a stand for a 20 or 25g and they gave me some off putting answers. They seemed disinterested in acquiring me as a customer, if this is their attitude for sales one would think after sales support would be dismal. So I looked into waterbox, and asked about their stands, they told me all their stands are pure wood, and directed me to a link… I guess OSB aka strand board = pure wood. And then wouldn’t say when they anticipate restock on their 20g

I’ve seen reef casa but they seem cost prohibitive here in the states, does that ultimately leave me looking into an UNS AIO?

Anyone have good/bad experiences with these companies?!

Shady?? Seems like a strong position to take.

Nuvo probably wants to sell tanks (and stands) not stands. I don't see an issue with that – it's a competitive market and there are zillions of AIO makers up against them.

It seems like you want to be catered to, have high product standards AND be a cheapskate. Don't we all???? (This is what makes the marketing look like it looks.)

IMO, either you're just looking for excitement/disappointment (which is OK), or you should consider that DIY'ing a stand fits the bill better than other options. :) Folks do it all the time, so at least consider it! 20 Gallon size is no-biggie!

Innovative Marine is know to have very good customer service. Their tanks are a great value, I have 5 of them from 10-25 gallons, and I know members that are very happy with their larger IM tanks. If you're looking at an IM 20L AIO, you can get a stand for that tank at PetSmart, or as mentioned above, it's a simple DIY to build a stand for that size tank.

Good luck!

Are you looking for an all-in-one system or just a stand? Plenty of AIO options are varying price points. I don’t think you can really go wrong with any in 20-25g range since that is a small size and relatively straightforward for manufacturers to build and ship.

If you are looking for a stand only don’t go to the AOO aquarium companies since they either won’t sell it or it will not be cheap. There are a bunch of China-made aquarium stands that size that look pretty nice. Again, for this size tank there is limited risk in the stand failing.

It is unfortunate that Innovative Marine stopped selling stands for their aquariums less than 40 gallons. I ended up building my own stand for my 20. I like tanks to be a little higher up than normal anyway so it worked out, I don't have to bend over to look in there!

I like IM systems. I have the 15 aio, nice. I also have an ext 170, ext 50, and a ext 112 on the way.
The quality for what you get is hard to beat.

Both I like the concept of a red sea, except I saw them in person and there's a lot of gunk hiding under the silicone, I can see why they would fail. Nuvo seems to fit the bill if they still sold a 20g stand.

As someone who owns a Red Sea Max Nano 20g I don’t know what you mean by “gunk hiding under the silicone”. I’ve never had any issues with that tank.

My LFS has one as a diplay, the coraline and green algae is growing underneath the visible edges of the silicone. I am glad your tank does not have that issue perhaps their silicone application has changed ?
