Hi I found what I’m pretty sure is a regular green mushroom growing in my nano reef tank. I immediately moved it to my fish only tank for now because I’m a little worried about it overtaking my tank since it’s only the fluval 13.5. Would this mushroom be safe to put back in my reef tank or will it run the risk of overrunning it. I’ve heard from other people saying they wished they never put them in their tank because they’re so hard to get rid of. I just don’t want to risk that happening.

Mine in 2 years have not over run the tank, few more purple, few more green, but no explosion. Guess if you only want SPS then yes, if you like a few extras, then leave it. I like them, seem like mine won't "take over the tank"...

Okay thank you guys! What type of placement are best for these guys? Can I put them in the sand bed or do they need to be high up on a rock?
