Whatever tool you find easy to use is the one I'd recommend. The easier it is to use, the more you'll use it.

That said, like some others, I struggle to trust electronic measuring tools over years of use. Personally, to combat this concern I own a Tropic Marin High Precision Hydrometer I use to validate my electronic salinity tester every so often. Thus far, my electronic tester hasn't drifted on me as confirmed by the glass hydrometer but nonetheless, its reassuring to be able to confirm this in as much as may be reasonable for a hobbyist to do.

To answer your question directly, I don't use Milwaulkee (for no particular reason) but I do use an electronic salinity tester. It's just faster and easier for me to do many times over when mixing new salt water mostly. To me its worth it. If the Milwaulkee unit looks appealing to you, I'd say its a fine choice to buy.

i just bought mine last week from premium aquatics, and used their 10% off discount. Out the door was $102.60
once i stopped overthinking how to use it, and started using it, it has become a lot easier.
I'm getting consistent readings, which is my main goal. I do have a manual refractometer as a back up as well.
bought one last night.

$121 shipped to my door. I figure that it will be used so much that I want that and a backup.

I like mine and have used it for years. You bought it already, I don’t know where but I always check saltwateraquarium.com

It’s the same price (in this situation) as Amazon but they throw in free stuff

Here’s the free stuff on orders over 100

I have 2 of the free pnw Christmas ornament and converted back into a frag stands

Ignore the aiptasia. I have about 30 bounty hunters knocking them down everyday

Berghia nudibranch. I have a medium-large aiptasia problem that was consistently getting worse by the week in my 75g. I added 14 berghia and figured I’d spend 220$ to be rid of them.

I added them and for 2 months I never saw them again. At almost the exact 2 month mark I started seeing them at night. Now I see the them day, night, adults, babies. They are all over eating aiptasia and making a huge dent in the problem.
