Are my clownfish laying eggs?

She is trying to prepare a surface to lay eggs. It may not be immediate that it happens, mine can go through a few days or a couple weeks of this before she is satisfied with "the spot" to lay the eggs. You'll know the evening/night she lays them because the ovipositor will extend from the belly.

Super unlikely you'll have any offspring to raise. The reproduction cycle is rather complicated as the eggs hatch as fry rather than fish which will only eat live food smaller than they are. There is also the powerheads, skimmers and circulation pumps that are unkind to super small freshly hatched fry.

Oh shoot okay this hobby has a bunch of surprises maybe I’ll try raising them sometimes next summer ! I’ll keep you updated on if she lays any!
