I'm just wondering if some clams are less likely to get pyramid snails.
Reason I ask is because 3 years ago we purchase 2 maxi and 1 squamosa clam at the same time from the same place. All were less than 2 inches long. Long story short we ended up introducing pyramid snails to out tank about 1 year after picking up the clams. The 2 maxi died from them but the squamosa has never had an issue. Two years later the squamosa has grown huge with no signs of snails but we still have them because I just picked 4 off our turbo snails. I have pulled this clam out and never have seen snails on it.
Anyone seen this?

Sorry I tried to reply to this last night from my phone but I guess it didn't go through...

I haven't ever had the prefer one type of clam more than another. They are not too picky IMHO.

Just moved this clam to the bottom of the tank (out grown rock ledge) so I went ahead and inspected it for snails last night. Not a one. But still find them on my snails. CRAZY!!.
Will post pics. New location you can see how thick this clam is.

I have also noticed this with squamosa clams - not all, but some. Weird... I cannot explain it.

On a similar note, I recently found a Stomatella snail with a pyramid snail on it's back... time to check the clams.
