Are there any "sucker" algae eaters?

In fresh water, there are a lot of algae eaters that use a sucker to eat (like Pleco's) but for all the algae control in reef systems I just see snails and fish that look like *normal fish* and not the om-nom-nom kind you get in freshwater.

This "fish style" is what I am talking about

Closest I know of would be lawnmower blennys but there not really a pleco type sucker fish hooe someone else has a better awnser for you

yeah I am surprised I couldn't rally find anything that is like this in salt. I assume there is some design reason the fish in salt evolved that way over freshwater, but I am not a marine biologist lol

Not really. They are designed to pull and scrape algea of the rocks lots of jagged edges. Where fresh tend to have smooth surfaces.
