Is there a way to bypass the 78+ day fallow period while copperpowering livestock?
For example what if you were to
*drain the tank/over flow and dry
*take out and let sand/rocks dry out completely ;(
*place a few fans in or around the tank/sump to let dry everything out COMPLETELY

I understand that this is pretty extreme and all your beneficial bacteria while be wiped out and that’s a whole other issue
Your thoughts would be appreciated guys.....trying to think outside of the box here for my fallow period was unsuccessful and It was hell to complete with a 250 gallon tank stuffed with angels and tangs ;(

If you sterilize the tank and all wet components, yes you can skip the fallow period.

Thanks for the reply guys. I was thinking what if you were to take and dry all of the sand/rocks then fill up with tap water and run that for a day or two? Makes sense to me, right?

If it dries, it dies. But so does all your bacteria.
Never heard that phrase before but kind of like it. Ya I guess I’ll have to buy a feW gallons of bacteria, soak as much sand/rocks possible, and hope for the best. I’d rather have low bacteria for awhile than Ich forever for it’s ruining my enjoying this hobby.

Also.. if you have diverse live rock, I would take out half and dry it out and then leave the other rock in warm salt water for 80 days then put it back in your tank.

If you just started with dry rock then just dry it all out.
Cheers
