From what I understand, their eggs are often in a sort of loose clump, and they're pretty recognizable as white/translucent ... eggs. Does that sound like what you've got?
With the dottybacks I've bred the egg mass is normally secreted into the rockwork/pipe but does occasionally come loose. It looks exactly like you'd expect, a mass of small eggs stuck together. The colour depends on how old or fertile the eggs are but an amber/whitish colour is normal. I've bred a few of the smaller pseudochromis sp and egg masses were around 1 inch in diameter.
