What a difference a year ( and a few months) make! Kind of proud of this guy this was my first over $100 coral purchase. Came to me not even a half inch inch from aqua SD. Once I glued it to the rock I have not done a thing for it or to it. First picture form July 2019 and the last picture is of last night oct 25th 2020.

Awesome job!

Any suggestion with your personal experience for growth in this piece?
Not really just leaving em be I guess. I don’t have a lot of par going into my tank even though I have the option to. It’s getting hit pretty good by the Nero 5 and it seems to like it because it gets so fuzzy. I will say it did absolutely nothing from July to Oct/nov and I was getting frustrated. It took off after that and I could see new growth almost daily. I dose Red Sea AB+ every other day and that helps cause my nutrients are sooo low. I get similar growth from my other sticks too. Here is Walt in Feb of this year and now and a random pink Mille and HGM acro. Lower par and higher flow seems to work for me.

Haha this thread is so old! Just an update. I cut the monster colony I eventually grew and thought I got every last Polyp off the rock. I had my success and I was ready to move on back to a mostly LPS tank. So here we are however long later. Apparently there was some left. It grew to be massive and I continually have to cut it back off the bonsai. Crazy how **** lives in thrives when you don’t really want it to versus something you baby and nurture and say a prayer that it takes in Grows. Same with the bonsai that we wiped out too. Just for a joke I glued some ASad Mille to the back glass just for giggles and dang look at it now

Notice the green Millie’s growing out of the back glass? Same coral, one is bright yellow (almost concerning bright) and the ones on the glass are green as heck. Those have a lot more PE though and love getting blasted by the Nero 5 that is about 6-8 inches away. Literly glued what had to be just one polyp on the back, did not care if it lived or died, and that was the corals cue to grow like crazy. One they think you don’t care they go nust. Also check out the battle between the digi and the ASD rainbow Mille. That thing went nuts in the glass too. Such a cool way to get coral to grow, can’t recommend enough. Thought I liked GSP on the glass and overflow? Nah SPS in the back glass is the way to go
