Asd rainbow millepora - Turned Green

So I got a small frag of asd rainbow millepora a few weeks ago. It turned green about a week after I got it. Is this a sign of too much or too little light?

It's busy encrusting over the glue that's attached it to its plug.

It's under a hydra26hd, in the 20k color range. I dose nitrates such that they stay in the 2ppm range.

It's adjusting to your tank, sps often "green up" before they "color up"

Not sure if its mariculture. The LFS has a lot of nice colonies in their display tank, so I'm guessing it's a frag from there.

They were all colored nicely when I bought it.

Edit: The above thread seems to suggest too much light may cause greening? Maybe I'll turn down the intensity of my hydra26hd and see what happens.

The LFS had the frags wayyyy down in a very large tank lit by several hydra 26hd and some actinic t5 bulbs. Maybe the asd rainbow doesn't light a lot of light?

I'll see if I can get a decent picture. iPhone 6s is going to make this frag look like a green nub. I've got a DSLR that I need to figure out.

Update:

Now the coral has turned tan with green tips. Too much light? Not enough light? I'm in serious doubt that it's too much light. I've got it in acclimation mode and using the AB+ program for the hydra26hd. This program doesn't max out any of the color channels.

I've moved it over to the side for now. It was directly under the light.

That's how the frag looked at the LFS.

Maybe it needs more light? It's 20in under the lights. It was further down at the LFS, but also in a tank with more lights over it.

Most frags will lose color as they start to base out..........there's no reason to concern yourself with overall color until it starts to sprout new branches from the base and show some true growth.

The overall color of this frag looks much like the tips of the above pictured coral. The little nubs that are growing off the side are bright green.

Many SPS will brown when introduced b/c the zooxanthellae is acclimating to its new environment. These algae can better acclimate to low light than high light so as much as I want to blast them with more light I've turned my lights down significantly. I think your coral will color up nicely so just give it some time and focus on keeping it alive first then worry about color.:D
