Here's BRS's recommendations for that skimmer:

BRS Recommended Tank Size:

Lightly Stocked - 130 Gallons

Medium Stocked - 65 Gallons

Heavily Stocked - 40 Gallons

You decide if you want to use that with your 125!

And they say the 150 is 55 for heavily stocked. What is considered heavily stocked

No one has anything in stock and my skimmer isn't working. The 130 is all they have. I want the 150 but they don't have.

If you haven't bought it yet, you might consider a skimmer large than the 150... If you've already bought it, disregard and just keep your stocking relatively low :)

Can't afford the 180. 360 no tax for 150. I only want one more wrasse and fox face. If that's not too much

Any reason you're leaning towards the vertex as opposed to other skimmers?

I was going to get a ice cap. But my tank is going on 3 weeks of my current one not working. Vertex was in stock at lfs. They had some regular reef octopus but nothing I wanted. So price of 350 and something good quality that was in stock.

I'll run the 150 and see how it dose. And keep saving for a bigger one down the road. I should be able to sell the 150 for a decent amount later.

You will be happy with the 150 if you dont stock up like craxy. Its built solid and pulls out some nasty gunk.
