ATI DIMMABLE QUESTION ??

I have the ATI dimmable fixture. I noticed recently that when the unit is unplugged the clock resets to zero but the channel settings remain . Has anyone had this issue ? Is this a known issue ? Is there a way to fix this ?

It does it to mine as well. I just figured that is what happens.

That's what happens with mine as well.

An option if you have a controller is to have the power outlet cycle off and back on at midnight every night in the event that a power outage makes the time wrong on the fixture.

So just an update on my fixture. Yesterday I got home from work to find a new bulb at my door step. Unplugged the fixture , did the bulb swap . When I plugged it back in the display showed ATI and nothing else. I unplugged for a few than plugged back in and across the display was a solid bar . Unplugged it a couple of times and the same thing showed on the screen. I waited maybe an hour, of course freaking out that now I don't have a light over my tank and plugged it back in and it finally let me adjust the clock and the lights came on. When I adjusted the clock the display showed that the lights were on at 187% yes 187% , so I adjust everything down and had it set to the normal settings . Meanwhile (back at the bat cave) during this time I had emailed ATI about my situation and Keith Smith got back to me this exact same night ...which is amazing , thank you Keith. Said I probably needed a new timer and I should try to set the system back to default by holding all the buttons down for 7-8 sec. and then reset the fan , gave me a link to you tube to show me how. I didn't want to mess with it at that time because it was working . When I got up 5 am this morning the lights were on full blast and the settings were all messed up so I just unplugged the unit and will deal with it when I get home today.

Its very frustrating , this unit is less than a year old . only really started using it to its full potential last 2 months maybe. I got this for my new 75 gallon build and was excited to ditch the led bandwagon and go back to the tried and true T5 's and grow some corals. I have to say it took some time to start to like the look of a t5 system again coming from leds for the past 6 years of reefing , but I finally got the color I want and the corals were responding very well to the new lights. I bought the ATI unit thinking that it was the best bag for the buck for function , reliability and power. I have to say I am regretting my decision and now remembering all the issues I had years ago with halides that would go out prematurely and power compacts that would flicker and burn out.

Man. Im so glad I got non dimmable.
On/off, no problems. So many issues with these. Hope you get it back running soon

I went back and forth with dimming and non , my choice was really based on having just one power cord ....silly me:mad:

Hopefully once they replace the timer you will get it running ok.
Many have dimmeable without issues, so hopefully you just got a bad one.
Thankfully my new tank size only comes non dimmeable(80w)... Besides timers ballasts can become an issue down the road

I've power cycled mine maybe a hundred times. It has a battery that keeps the time and settings intact. I've never ever had to re-enter any of the settings. I'd reach out to ATI. Hope there is an easy fix for yours. Maybe a factory reset?

Does everyone run them at 100% and just turn off the different channels at different times? How does everyone do the burn in on new bulbs without bothering the coral?

I ramp them up and then down over the course of the day with a three to four hour "noon" period where the main channel is at 100%.

When changing bulbs I do a 48 blackout of the tank and run the bulbs at 100 for 48 hours.
