I've been dosing ATI Essentials Pro for about 3 weeks and have been testing my alk daily. I started with my alk at 8 and it has gone up .1 every few days. Then last night it jumped .5 from 8.6 to 9.1. I try to test at 6:45pm and Part 1 is dosed 1ml on even hours and Part 2 1ml on odd hours. The number with an * below, I was unable to test on time, but did within the next hour and before the next dose. How high do I continue to let my alk rise? Their website says if the change is .1-.2 then continue, if it jumps .3, then adjust dosage.

I just tested and my alk is at 9.6, Ca 470, mag 1350 all using salifert.

If you are at or above your target alkalinity, stop dosing.

If you are still below it, keep dosing.

The sudden jump is likely test error. The Hanna only claims accuracy +/- 0.3 dKH, and that assumes you are using it perfectly.
