Well, I am in the middle of starting up an new tank, an SCA 66, and thinking about what I am going to use for lighting on this tank. The tank will be SPS dominated. I am about half way through my cycle on this tank.

I was thinking about using my Radion G2 that I have over my old tank, but am having second thoughts as I have not had the best success with the light. This is after two years of using the light.

I have been considering supplementing with t5s, however I like the idea of the ATI and Giesemann Hybrid units. However, I am wondering about the quality of the LEDs used in either of the fixtures. Also, is the cost of these units justified. For the $1400 - $1800 price range of these fixtures I can get 2 Radion G3 Pros.

I would like to get input on these lights and if the are worth the cost.

I am also open to other suggestions as to how I can improve my lighting on the new tank.

Thanks,

Rob

I have been in the reefing side of the hobby for 2 years but a total of 17 years and had every light led fluorescent and currently metal halide. I would say try the ATI fixtures they provide the best light and coloring to me and now comes with dim control on reason i dont have them now is because i like the shimmer effect to much to let go. Led was cool but not as a main source of light.
