In my 8 bulb I run 2 coral plus and 2 actinics and 4 blue plus.

My two 6 bulb units I run 2 actinic 2 blue plus and a coral plus and a purple plus..
I used to run a purple plus and a GE daylight...

I am going to be trying the new Giesemann lamps...

I just got the new Giese Purple. Compare to ATI P+, its not as pinkish as their P+. Can't wait to get the other ones.

LAX. The new combo we are runnig with the 22k replacement of the inner blue + IMO gives same growth rate as far as I can see. A few things have colored up a bit more with the new combo.

Are you running the setup we have . My picture you had shown?

Hey bud, you have sps and only montis? Also that's the 24" fixture correct?

We have the db30g rimless out 8bulb is hanging 10-11" off the water.

To your question. The 2blue+ inner bulbs to 22k

The 48" has a reefbright silver version hanging in the front of the tank. Pointed toward the middle(back) hung from 2 wires from the celing cause I did not want to distort the ATI fixture with holes

I'm currently using the combo in ur pic. Just got it up yesterday XD. I'm running night cycle with frag tank, so it's off during day time. Yes, it's 24" 8 bulb. I think one of my frag bleached a bit last night. Ran for 4 hours on, off 2 hours, then on 4 hours again.

lets get a bump on this thread. i am about to have to change my 8 bulbs ATI, I love the blue look I get when just my reefbrites are on and I want a more pop when all my t5s are on. Right now I have 4 blue plus and 4 coral plus. I was thinking of going to 6 blue plus, 1 purple plus and a coral plus but going through this thread it is making me think I should add in a true actinic.

What do you guys suggest? I really wnat great growth and color.

When I ran t-5 I always run actinic they will provide the pop.
Down side less par and they seem to have a shorter life span.
But par should not be a issue anyway.
Coral plus is a lot of red.

I run 5 Blue Plus, 1 Actinic, 1 purple Plus, and 1 Coral Plus. It gives a real nice color and since the PP and CP are on a separate ballast I can turn them off when I want to view it more blue. I also run 1 Reefbrite for a few hours before and after the T5 photoperiod that I can turn on independently for more pop when I want.

What do you think about switching out 1 blue plus for another actinic, so 4 blue plus, 2 actnics, 1 purple plus and 1 coral plus. I saw a lot of people that say you need more then one actinic to actually see a different between that and another blue plus. I have 2 reefbrites on my setup but it is still a little too white for my liking.

I did run 2 actinics for a while - one each an ATI and a Giesemann. It looked really nice. I replaced one with a blue plus just for the PAR increase.
I would encourage you to try it and see what you think.

Yeah I am going to hopefully within the next two weeks. Did you ever measure the par when you had 2 actinics compared to when you had 1? I have never measured my par but am interested in it
