Atlantic blue nipping trachy?!?

I have just picked up a fairly expensive brain coral and ihave noticed after a day or two a part of its skeleton is showing so I started watching and very frequentlyy atlantic blue tang is nipping at it. I have a cut a 2 liter bottle top of pocket some holes in it and covered the coral for the mean time. What do I do?

You can try moving it to a different spit that the fish doesn't go a lot or hope that he runs his course and stops. Also if you keep the fish well fed it shouldn't pick at it.

My vlamingi is 3.5 inches long and a major Fat ... Feeding them isn't enough. Some just nip corals. Getting rid of mine plus my Atlantic blue.

Very true. For some, there is no help. I have to have nori in my tank everyday so my hippo doesn't nip at my zoas

We had a desjardini sailfin (the size of a diner plate) that would pick at corals. Being that big, a little nip for him would turn out to be a big chunk.

Update! So I built a little cage for it so no fish could get to it yesterday. Today I came home from work and more if it's skeleton is showing. I also see some sort of white film over some of it. No other coral is having problems at all. What do I do?

The tang may have been after algae that quickly develops on exposed coral skeleton. Not sure what the problem is with your coral but it doesn't sound like the tang was it. Hope it turns around soon.
