Atlantic Blue Tang (Acanthurus coeruleus)

Has anyone used these for Algae control? How do they do in reef tanks?
 
I have one and he is fat as a pig. as far as algae control I don't know I don't really have that much, I have seen him eat algae on the on the glass though.
