Hi all

I have set up a new DT in December. I set up a QT last month with ATM Colony and two fish. However the fish had to be moved into my DT at risk as the ammonia levels rocketed even with water changes. The fish have been in my DT for over a week and my QT ammonia levels have not changed. I have used a lot of ATMC but clearly they are not taking.

Can anyone recommend a media I can put into the tank that can help colony stabilise and Flourish? I have one plastic tube in there and and glass bottom - no substrate. I have poured ATM into the filter media too but still nothing.

Any help would be great.

Thanks everyone

Sounds like surface area for your bacteria might be the issue.
These ceramic cubes are pretty popular.

My lfs sells them individually. Cheap enough to throw away if you have to use copper.
