Got rid of my kalkstirrer and it had a check valve right after the pump in the ro resovior. so i took it off and dont have anything but the maxijet pump and hose coming out of a 12 gallon trashcan, seems like when the pump kicks on it pumps then after the pump turns off its still pumping ,sorta like a siphon .what the heck do i do so it will stop flowing

Is the reservoir higher than the sump or tank, into which the top off water is being pumped?

I had a similar problem and corrected it by elevating the tube supplying the sump with ATO water to be higher than the highest level in my ATO reservoir. However, my sump and ATO reservoir are at the same level.

I think i would try putting the check valve back on. Water is probaly draining back to pump causing it to short cycle.

Yea the water line is higher in the res..
