ATO Unit which do you trust on your tank

Well looking to setup an ATO for my tank and hook it up to my ReefKeeper does anyone have this already running if so what brand are you using and has it been reliable?

i'm using the RK ATO Module, and the pump is an Aqualifter, Works great!, I have yet to discover the first issue.

With the Reefkeepers all you need are a couple float switches, not really a whole system since they hook to the SL-1 or SL-2 modules contacts.
I already had a Spectrapure UPLC-II so I don't use the ATO feature on my RKL.

I recall looking at and being impressed with the Elos unit when it was introduced, but what happens if the sensor fails? As I recall, there was no backup or failsafe?

On the down side, i had to change it when i switched to Kalk reactor as the Tunze pump doesnt have enough head pressure to run reactor

I was concerned about the same as the Osmolator pump can't handle much head pressure. I switched to a Tunze Kalk dispenser fed by a BRS dosing pump. I like not having Kalk dosing tied to ATO as it gives more control (smaller doses, slower drip rates and dosing outside of ATO needs.)

tunze because they have the back up sensor. I have been using it for 3 years now and would not use anything but.

I prefer the Spectrapure UPLC II, its more compact than the Tunze and also has a backup float switch. It uses the same bulletproof peristaltic pump as their famous LiterMeter too.

I just use my RKE

I went a little fancy and run two pumps.

I monitor my pH and if it under 8.3 it adds top off water via the KW reactor.
if the pH is over 8.3 it user the other pump and adds straight RODO (no kalk)

I also monitor the top off water level and have it e-mail/text me
and inhibit the top off pumps if the top Off Barrel runs low

Have used the small coralife unit that flooded my tank a few times, The JBJ unit worked for a while but also flooded the tank. Both of these incidents weren't because the unit malfunctioned, but because of my mistakes (bumping lines, chords, etc.). Picked up a used Tunze and love it, as mentioned it has an extra layer of protection built in so it is much more difficult for me to flood my tank.

i use the RKE on one tank and a reef fanatics on another.... i like the rke better, but the other works too. both are setup with emergency off and both have a time limit for running.

I use a JBJ and it works fine, I just have to clean the float valve every once and a while so it dont stick.
