Attempting to save some Euphyllia

Isn't there a pretty big difference in Alk between IO and TM pro reef? IO is around 11ish and TM pro around 7

A big alk swing could have hit all the stony corals pretty hard.

5ppm NO3 is nothing. I have dosed 20-30ppm NO3 in one shot many many times on my LPS Goni garden.
I'm leaning towards a rapid change in Alk. As @vetteguy53081 mentioned, raising the nitrates wouldn't do that.
Also, if the SG was off that would shock them too with out acclimating them.
I would repeat a coral dip. Do you have any Lugols Iodine? Melafix? Cipro?
If you are able, make a dip with:
500mg Cipro
3 scoops Chemiclean
10ml Restore
10ml amino acids
10ml witch hazel
2 full droppers of Lugols Iodine.
Second on alk swing. My experience with tropic, it’s much higher in alk & have seen these exact effects in systems with a sudden upward swing in alk.

Very possible it’s This ^^^

I just lost some acros and had noticeable stress in several other corals. All happened at the same time. I checked every parameter and everything I could think of. Only thing that happened - my alk was 1 dkh higher due to a dosing malfunction. Is it the reason? I can’t be positive but I can’t find anything else

Historically on my reef, any of the times I’ve had coral issues, were related to alkalinity changes

Thank you everyone for the replies.

Roughly 4 hours in my system last night, most of the Euphyllia started extending their polyps, which is a good sign.

Let’s hope the rest open up and start to recover.
I love it when I'm right lol jkjk. Glad the bounced back. Receding vs melting is 2 diff things. I seen skin, assumed they'd bounce back. Saved some goldies too gj

I am just saying as, I have lazy pet stores here who will sell you expired anything. And if they had tm in stock, it would be sitting in the back until the fuss was over and they would resume the sells.

You just never know about vendors.

Because of the tm pro issue, my local fish store switched to aquaforest. He never did switch back from what i was told, as he was too terrified.
Is this just with tm pro? If not just tm pro, does the brs recall imply brs is safe to get salt from? I use red sea coral pro but I'm about to switch to either the blue bucket, the fritz red box or reef crystals once my current supply runs out. Would suck to cause a crash by switching salts after I just redid the tank to fix the hawaiian black sand issue.

It was true, I just don't know if all contaminated batches were dealt with. BRS did refund/recall the turkey batches. They are the only ones I know who did it. Any other source, I would check and make sure the salt mixes clearly with no weird residue.

I guess I need to be clear, tm pro from turkey only was the issue. The rest were fine.

You will slowly be changing when doing small water changes. However, if you were to do a large water change, it 50% or more, you may have issues. Just go slow when changing salts, let your system acclimate.

Update for everyone.

Majority of my dad’s torches seem to be recovering. Maybe lost a few heads here and there. Each day they seem to be extending more and more.

I fragged some my Bubblegum torch and Indo gold torch to give him as a present once everything is healthy enough to return to his system.

That’s great news.

Sorry for no update on this for awhile.

My system was able to save majority of his Euphyllia which I have since returned to him.

Appreciate all the advice and well wishes along the way!
