I bought a couple shrimp imported as Alpheus bellulus, Tiger Snapping Shrimp. I didn't notice at first that they are not Tigers. Now it is obvious to me that they must be something different - possibly they are simply species variants of Tigers?? I found a pic that is the same as them, take note of the remarkably blue legs with yellowish bands at each "knuckle" join on the legs. The tail area is also remarkably bluish grey rather than typical brown shades of Tigers. I've been trying to look up images of the fish pictured, Cryptocentrus cinctus and hoping this particular shrimp variant will show up with a name, but no luck. Looks like this goby often/usually pairs up with Alpheus bellulus. Go figure. :D

That's seem an alpheus rapax :)

I can't find hardly any info or pics of this one! Do you know where there is some info? I'm mostly concerned if this species will pose a threat to fish or invertebrates.

Sorry, I should have included before that this shrimp came from Philippines.

The tail/abdomen patterning is much different in that photo. Interesting about the blue. I did think it was quite striking. Not sure why I didn't notice when I bought them.
