Auto Feeder suggestions please

I have a Maxspect Dice 12g AIO. I will be going out of town for 2 nights in a few weeks.

I would like to be able to go out of town for a week and have my tank be fine if possible. I do not plan on using auto feeder unless I’m out of town.

My cardinal is the pickiest eater and I’ve got him eating pellets, if reluctantly.

What would be a suggestion for feeding while out of town?

I like the Eheim auto feeders. I use them 24/7.

I’m looking at the Eheim auto feeder now. How important is a feeding ring? I’ve never used one before. Do you all use them?

Drop some pellets in the tank where you’d put the feeder. If they go straight to and down the overflow weir, a ring would be a good idea.

I do not use feeding rings, nor do I turn flow off for feeding as I feel the fish should work for their food.
