Anyone have any ideas on how to build a DIY auto feeder? Or would it be better to just buy one. Current non-photosynthetic livestock in my tank are some snails, an emerald crab, and 1 clownfish.

If you have access to a 3d printer, check thingiverse. Myself, I would just buy one.

Yes, I said it! It's something I won't DIY. LOL!

I don't use them but they can be handy.

Haha thanks. I have access to a 3D printer for free at my university. It's just a long wait period, I'll check it out. Thank you!

Monterey Bay Aquarium uses a DIY solution. I looked for my photos but failed to find them. I think they used a garden hose timer and plastic water bottles. Might do exactly what you are hoping for a non-photo sythetic tank -if you are looking to feed liquid. They simply loaded the amount to be dropped in the tank. Much cheaper than a doser... and 0 chance for catostropic failure (just a skipper feeding if something goes wrong).
